Earlier Reviews for Tour Creole

Luck would have it that I would have one of the best tour guides I have ever had in a city tour. Randy was amazing during my City Sightseeing Tour. We actually got off our previous bus because it began to rain and hopped on the next bus which Randy was the guide for. I had an amazing time and learned so much from Randy. I will definitely contact him for a tour next time I come back to New Orleans.

The best experience we had on our first trip to New Orleans, was with Randy Bibb! We took his driving tour and not only did I laugh histerically at his sense of humor.....I learned and experienced so much of the history and culture! I was one of the BEST Tours I have taken ever! We love you Randy!!!

We very much enjoyed our Garden District Tour with Randy. He has a lot of information and stories to share. Randy is very funny and pleasant to be around. We would definitely take another tour with Randy as our guide :)

My best friend and I took the City/Hurrican Rebirth Tour on Wednesday May 22nd and were immediately pleased with Randy and his awesome, friendly personality the moment we met him. The tour was wonderful and Randy, as many others have already pointed out, was so full of knowledge and zest for the city's history. I learned a great deal to get me started on researching further for the Novel I plan to write under the genre of Historic Fiction (Pen name SD Denny). THANK YOU, RANDY!!! I will definitely refer you to anyone I know planning to visit New Orleans, and I'll definitely be in touch with you when I visit again!

On May 16, 2013, Randy took one of us on a culinary tour in the morning and both of us on a tour of the French Quarter in the afternoon. Both were walking tours, and both quite educational and definitely entertaining. Randy, thanks!!

Randy, Phil & I loved the tours we took with you. The amount of knowledge you possess about New Orleans is amazing. You made our vacation fun and truly unforgettable. When we revisit New Orleans you'll be the first person we contact.

We took the Katrina rebirth tour today with Ellen. We have taken tour of New Orleans before but we found this one to be the most informative.Ellen was really interesting and extremely knowledgeable about the area. It gave us an excellent overview of the area. Thank you so much. We will take other tours with you when we are back in the area. We have passed your name on the family who will be in New Orleans next week.

Randy is a find. This was the third tour of New Orleans we went on, and it was undoubtedly the best. Randy is an interesting character and he really loves history... and he knows so much that you could learn from him for days. A real treat!

My wife and I visited New Orleans for the first time this past week. We had done our research in advance and booked a City/Hurricane Rebirth Tour. I am sure that any of the guides would have been satisfactory, but it was our great good fortune that Randy was 'the man' in charge of our tour. He took a tour that would, I am sure have been interesting on its own and made it an experience that Roseanne and I will always remember. Cheerful, friendly, enthusiastic and full of good humor are all terms that describe Randy. Not only has he those qualities, but as a self proclaimed historian, he is well versed in the detailed history of New Orleans and was able to go beyond the usual facts, figures and sometimes erroneous information that one hears from the average guide. Randy is also a well of information regarding restaurants, clubs, shopping and cooking (New Orleans style). Randy's natural and never ending flow of commentary kept our entire group so glued to every word that when he offered to extend the length of the tour for a while, our answer was a resounding 'YES!' When the tour was finally over, Randy dropped all of us off at whatever location we asked for. As Roseanne and I were leaving the van, we overheard Randy mention that he was to be the guide for the French Quarter tour that evening.......the same one that we had planned to take. What a bonus! Without going into all the details, Randy excelled himself for a second time that day. And at the end of the walking tour he generously stayed with a some of us for a while to answer a few more questions and simply indulge in some friendly chat. Without question we would recommend to any of our friend planning a visit to New Orleans that they should contact Randy.

My 8 and 10 year olds requested Spring Break in New Orleans (both musicians, and one a big history buff). We took the City/Hurricane Rebirth Tour with Randy on March 10, 2013. It was a fascinating tour, and it flew by. We loved every minute of it, and also appreciated the information on family friendly things to do, and classical music in New Orleans. Great tour, very entertaining, and enjoyable. Thanks, Randy!

One thing I know for sure is that guided tours are essential if you want to learn about where you are visiting. Self guided tours just don't work for a lot of reasons. For instance, you read a lot about your subject and a lot of the time it is a boring read. You get lost or can't find what you are looking for. For the many questions you have there is no one to answer them. These are just some of the problems about self guided tours. My wife and I have been on many, many guided tours and by far Randy is the best guide we have ever had. The guy is a pleasure to be with, I could hang out with him all the time. I really believe he lives to do research because he can answer almost any question you have. He is a great story teller and actor, except the stories he tells are all nonfiction - no fictional embellishment just to make a "great story". You will want the tour to last forever. The man knows his stuff as you will see. I absolutely recommend that you go on his tours.

As a pedicab driver in New Orleans I interact with a lot of tour guides, and there is definitely misinformation out there. It is clear that Randy is passionate about New Orleans' rich & complicated history, as he does extensive research & fact checking. His extensive knowledge, along with a laid back & humorous personality is reflected in the large variety of guided tours that he offers.

Randy gave my Tulane classes and I a great tour yesterday! He was professional, extremely well-informed, and historically very accurate. He had a lot of great insights, told wonderful stories, and included personal details that really made the tour interesting and memorable. I highly recommend Randy for a fun tour or, as in my case, in an academic capacity. Thanks for a great tour Randy!

I took the City/Hurricane Rebirth Tour with my family on Feb. 18th. Randy was a fabulous tour guide and very knowledgeable. As tourists, it is easy to get "stuck" in the French Quarter, and neglect the rest of the city. This tour opened our eyes to everything NOLA has to offer. We cannot wait until our next visit to further explore other parts of the city that Randy introduced us to. We had visited the year before for a wedding and went on a walking voodoo tour, but this was an all around better experience. Randy's perspective and knowledge brought so much to this tour. Plus, there was humor and light-heartedness when it was needed. I will definitely be contacting Randy again for another tour when we're back in NOLA!

On Tuesday, Jan. 22, we had the pleasure of taking a stroll through the French Quarter with Randy Bibb. What a hoot! He's a comedian, historian and obviously a connoisseur of all foods Creole. His recommendation The Gumbo Shop was much appreciated. Randy shared dates, facts, theories, rumours and mysteries with us during our 2-hour walking tour - we've already recommended him to a friend traveling there soon. Encore, merci beaucoup.

Dear Randy, we did the tour with you at the 29th of January and we didn´t come around to write you earlier, because since then we´ve been driving to California. Now we´re writing you from Palm Springs to say thank you for a great, interesting and hilarious walk with you through the French Quarter. We really enjoyed your knowledge and your opinions about the history and the present situation there. Thank you so much and if you wonder, why this Email is written in a funny way, we were the german couple and elves are bitches!!! Greatings, Anisha & AndrĂ©

TO: Robert Florence President Historic New Orleans Tours Rob - I want to thank you for arranging the private New Orleans city tour for InteleTravel's travel agents yesterday. It was a highlight of this trip to educate our agents on your incredible city as a top travel destination. Our weekend also included hotel inspections, a ship tour and luncheon aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, several amazing meals at Commanders Palace, Arnaud's, etc., and seminars held for us by the New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau and other travel partners. But your tour was a critical and necessary experience for my agents. It was easy and convenient to work with you; the van arrived right on time and was comfortable; the price more than reasonable. And I must single out our guide and driver, Randy. We are in the business of giving valuable advice to travelers, so it is significant to me that we have an insightful and accurate view of New Orleans, and not a "typical tourist" approach to our understanding of the city. Referrals from our demanding customers for whom we have provided travel experiences that exceed expectations are what determine our success. Randy's "historian" approach to his commentary, based on his own primary research and real knowledge of history, impressed us all. But he is never boring. Quite the opposite, he balances that discipline with a comic-crazy personality that won over the group immediately. Even the "church ladies of a certain age" in our group were eating out of his hand. It is also important to recognize that Randy has a great love for New Orleans, and many of his stories - and especially his recounting of the important Katrina events - are deeply personal, and for that reason they are truly a gift to his guests. In short, we oohed and aahed, we laughed, we cried, we ate beignets, and we came away with more of an understanding of this place called New Orleans than we ever expected. What else could you possibly want from a tour? My only regret is that we did not have more days to enjoy some of your other tours. I look forward to our next visit to do just that. In the meantime, we will be insisting that our customers tour with Historic New Orleans (and I am betting there will be a lot of requests for Randy). Best James JAMES R. FERRARA President InteleTravel.com

We (two adults and two teenagers) took a City tour with Randy over the Christmas holidays and it was a spectacular introduction for first time visitors to New Orleans. Not only did we get an extensive overview of the geography of the city, Randy was also able to impart much of the unique history that belongs to the area. Randy is someone who cares deeply about New Orleans and goes the extra mile to help visitors get a real taste of it beyond the standard tourist areas. He also had great food recommendations!

We walked the French Quarter on our first day in New Orleans for hours so we were looking for a tour where we could sit a little so we booked a Platation Tour. Randy pulled up in a van with another couple and we took an entertaining and informative 25 min. drive to a Plantation which was interesting but the highlight was Randy who can speak in just about any accent you can think of and knows the local idiom well. He also knows the local history and the best places to eat. Next visit to New Orleans I will be calling him for a differant tour.

When they say "Who Dat" in NOLA, they SHOULD be saying "DAT WHO!" instead...speaking about Randy, of course. BEST and MOST INFORMATIVE, FUNNIEST, guide I have EVER had the pleasure to meet. My mom and I LOVED his tour. He took the time to explain, and then asked if we had questions. He LOVES the city as you can tell by his enthusiasm on tour. And we LOVED those pastries and coffee at our "break". Thanks, Randy, and keep doing what you do. The city would not be the same without you!

My daughter and I took the City/Hurricane Rebrith Tour with Randy on December 23, 2012. It was truly the highlight of our vacation! I've been to New Orleans many times but Randy's tour presented a unique aspect and I saw this beautiful city in a heartfelt new light. Randy is a hoot, he kept us entertained and answered all questions patiently with expert knowledge. The time flew by and we hated to see the tour come to an end. But in true New Orleans style, Randy gave us a lagniappe at the end of our tour; when my daughter asked where we could go for the best char grilled oysters or ersters as he called them, he volunteered to drop us off there at the end of the tour. Now that's class! And, you were absolutely right, Randy, the ersters at Drago's were the best! Thanks for a great tour of our beloved New Orleans!

Randy is truly one of the best tour guides we have ever had....packed with a wealth of knowledge, he presents the New Orleans information in fun and interesting ways, is full of energy and passion, and has a great sense of humor. His love of this wonderful city certainly comes through and we'll definitely be recommending him to any of our friends who are heading out that way. Thanks, Randy, for a great tour.

I took Randy's city tour, which was outstanding. You will not only benefit from his dedication to study local history but also from his passion to the city. A myth busting tour, which makes the city even more interesting. Randy is also a great guy, someone you want also have a drink with.

I took the Voodoo Cemetery tour with Randy today, December 27th, 2012. I cannot exaggerate how wonderful this tour was. Randy was not only witty, informative and interesting, he was also clearly passionate about and personally invested in the subject he was treating. If I come back to New Orleans, I'll be looking into more of these tours. Absolutely excellent introduction to a city of wonderful history and complexity.

We booked a Plantation tour with Randy on a Sunday, and were so impressed and delighted with him, we booked a City and Swamp tour the next day. He has quite an extensive historical background of NO, he's the perfect tour guide. We learned so much about the area, he gave us so much interesting information, not memorized lines we have heard in other tours. We would highly recommend him to all, you will not be disappointed. Thanks Randy for making our visit more special, we really enjoyed your expertise and information, everything was great! Happy Holidays, from Seattle & Minneapolis!!!

Randy, Thanks for a great tour Friday night. I was so tired yesterday, but the envy of all when I told them I had the privilege of your company to places unseen by the average tourist. All in our walking tour group continued to rave over our fabulous tour guide. I didn't hear much from those not in our group. You're truly a delight. I'm glad to now have a friend in New Orleans. Be well. XOXO Laurie Equestrian Entries
